CHICKEN COOKED IN CURD AND SPICES

INGREDIENTS
- 1 kg chicken skinless and boneless cut it into medium pieces
- 200 gm of curd
- 2 tsp Butter
- 1 cup Onion paste / 1 onion
- 3 tsp Ginger paste
- 3 tsp Garlic paste
- 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
- 4 Cloves
- 4 Cardamoms
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
- 5 tsp cooking oil
METHOD :
MARINATE : - Wash the chicken pieces thoroughly under running water. Keep in bowl . Add the cinnamon, cloves , cardamom, curd, red chilli powder, salt, sugar, onion paster, ginger paste, garlic paste to the chicken and combine all ingredients together. Cover and transfer the bowl to the refrigerator. Marinate the chicken for 2 hours. When chicken has been thoroughly marinated take it out from the refrigerator and keep aside.
COOKING :- Mount a deep bottomed frying pan on medium heat. Add the cooking oil and the when the oil is heated add the add the mixture of cardamom, cinnamon and cloves powder to the oil. When the spices have stopped sputtering add in the chicken pieces and cook on medium heat. Cover the pan and let cook for 10 minutes before removing the lid and stirring the chicken pieces.
Cover and cook the chicken pieces this way for about 30-35 mins. Keep stirring in between at regular intervals to avoid charring the chicken pieces.
Check if the chicken pieces have become tender. Before removing from heat add 2 tsp of butter to the chicken and combine well. Remove from the heat to a serving bowl with Butter naan or pulao.
