Diwali Decorations

If your bedroom lacks brightness and you do not have time to get it repainted before Diwali, put a bright painting, throw in some bright colored cushions, wrap a cotton decorative sari to your curtain and there you are, the room will look different and brighter without much time spent.

Diwali being a festival of lights, add a personal touch to your lighting; be different. You can design or modify your wall lights by doing simple things. Simple rice paper lanterns can be made. You can even pick a glass globe from the lighting Fixture Company and get a carpenter to make a wooden bracket to accommodate the globe, and put it on the wall.

Sweet fragrance of flowers livens up the house instantly. Lakshmiji especially likes the red color. So you can do red rose decoration at pooja ghar. For rest of the house you can apply creative ideas. Like, make a bunch of vivid color flowers place the stems of flower into a transparent jar. Place such 8 to 10 jars at different corners of house. You can also use floating candles with flower decoration. Take 8 to 10 flowers, discard their stems. Also take a medium sized bowl, fill it with water. Gently place stem removed flowers and lighted candles in the bowl.

Diwali is festival of joy and merriment. Don’t spoil your festival by squandering away your hard earned money in the name of decoration. Decorate your house with full enthusiasm in available means, and most importantly involving every member of family. This is true spirit of Diwali.
